Robin + Tony
When the unexpected happens

If you’re in the DFW area, you may have heard the heartbreaking news of a local venue shutting down unexpectedly this past fall, leaving countless couples scrambling to replan their weddings. Imagine securing your dream venue, booking all your vendors through them, and then—just months before your big day—finding out that everything you planned is gone. That is exactly what happened to Robin and Tony.
She reached out to me just two months before her wedding, explaining that she had to start from scratch. She had booked all her vendors through the venue, and now she was left with nothing—including a florist. My heart broke for her, and I knew immediately that I wanted to help any way I could.
But the challenges didn’t stop there.
Just two weeks before her wedding, Robin ended up in the ICU on a ventilator due to a severe reaction to synthetic fragrances. On top of planning an entirely new wedding, she was now facing a major health scare. As you can imagine, the stress was starting to affect Robin’s health. To keep her safe, we made signs to place around the venue, kindly asking guests to avoid wearing perfumes or scented products.
Robin and Tony ended up moving their wedding to Hawthorn Hills in Krum, TX, which turned out to be the perfect choice. Robin had dreamed of an elegant country wedding, and this venue fit the vision beautifully. I absolutely loved working there—the staff was incredibly hands-on and accommodating, making sure every detail was just right. It’s quaint but offers the perfect amount of space, creating an intimate and charming atmosphere. If you’re looking for a venue with a country feel, definitely check out this hidden gem!

The week leading up to their wedding, the weather was gloomy, and was forecasted to rain on their wedding day. We came up with a plan b, hoping the weather would change. We crossed our fingers but just before the ceremony, it started to rain. Robin had her heart set on getting married outside, but when the skies opened up, she sighed and said, “It’s just my luck.” I absolutely hated this for her. With everything that went wrong during the planning process, I desperately wanted her to have the ceremony of her dreams. However, they did not let this ruin their day.
Despite all of these challenges, Robin and Tony weathered the storm—literally and figuratively. Their wedding day may not have gone exactly as planned, but it was a beautiful testament to their resilience, love, and unwavering commitment to each other. And if they can get through this, they can get through anything.
This experience was a reminder of why I do what I do. Weddings aren’t just about the flowers, the décor, or the logistics—they’re about love, resilience, and the incredible moments that make up a couple’s journey. I was honored to be part of Robin and Tony’s day and to help bring their wedding dreams to life, no matter the obstacles.
